Concept

From September 7th to 10th 2017, more than 150 dancers, musicians and researchers from all over Europe met for the thirds Summerwine Tango Festival in Graz. The young, virtuoso Orchester Pasional from Moscow provided excellent live music. Numerous international Tango-DJs, including Harry Wohlfart from Frankfurt and La Ros from Parma, lovingly prepared music for the traditional Milongas. Cristina and Homer Ladas, pioneers of the fusion of modern and traditional Tango dance elements, shared their knowledge in several workshops. And Tango pianist Robert Schmidt, who lives in Zurich and Berlin and has been educated in Argentina, worked with the Tango Community Orchester Graz on the details of playing Tango music. A scientific workshop series organized by the institute of Ethnomusicology, University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, completed the program.
